My daughter Deserved To Die
Abder-Qader Ali murdered his child and all it took were a few simple ingredients. First off, find yourself a place in the World where women are treated with less respect than dogs. This might be the 21st Century, but there are still loads of Countries to choose from!
“Sitting in the front garden of his well-kept home in the city’s Al-Fursi district, he remains a free man, despite having stamped on, suffocated and then stabbed his student daughter to death”.
Next, make sure your massively overdeveloped ego, completely disproportionate to your true worth in the World, is re-inforced by the culture in which you live:
“Astonishingly, he said, police congratulated him on what he had done. ‘They are men and know what honour is,’ he said”.
Ok, those are the easy bits, but maybe you feel a bit icky about murdering your child just because you’re embarrassed what other men will think of you? No problem! Just invent something that can’t be argued against to justify your barbarity:
“I know God is blessing me for what I did”.
Well done Ali! How on Earth would men be able to commit all these amazing atrocities if it wasn’t for the idea of God to wash away their confidence and give them some overblown, self-righteous balls. And having balls is very important when murdering your 16 year old daughter. You have to remember us women have our role:
“That girl humiliated me in front of my family and friends. Speaking with a foreign soldier, she lost what is the most precious thing for any woman.”
Speaking with a foreign soldier! What a slut! Didn’t she know the most precious thing for any woman is not to do anything that might upset a man’s fragile self-image. Especially in front of other men. Thank goodness men have their role too, to be brave and manly and strong:
“‘My sons are by my side, and they were men enough to help me finish the life of someone who just brought shame to ours.”
Doesn’t it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know there are guys “men enough” out there to carry their narrow-minded, state-supported, neanderthal religious backed fear of women to the point of vicious, barbaric murder?
Oh, and if you care, Rand Abdel-Qader spoke to the soldier because she studied English and was volunteering, helping displaced families. Her body was tossed into a makeshift grave and spat on afterwards. But, why would you care? She was only a woman.

sickening… I love and cherish women myself—and using and abusing them doesn’t go unseen. I have two incredible and priceless teenage daughters—a mom—a sister—and two beautiful nieces. This sort of thing turns my stomach—if there is injustice and evil this is it.
Thanks for commenting on my blog btw. Your comments were encouraging and God (no dis-respect) knows I need it from time to time. I will check out more of your stuff on your blog soon. I was just heading out the door for a walk.
Of all the blogs to find, this is perhaps the biggest surprise I could get…your writing is great as always, Lucy Lowe.

Hi Lucy Lowe,
I found your blog via evolution. I started in the chain at Doable Evangelism where a guy name Bill was posting some pretty tight views on evangelism. It made me curious as to who he really was, so I popped over to his blog where he was in a very intense discussion with you. I discovered that Bill was a ’specialist’ in apologeticks (where he mostly apologeticked his oponents off). In the course of the discussion you dropped a link to your blog site here. I was very impressed with your articulate candor and your sensitivity to alternate views. Yes, I am a follower of Christ.
I do want to leave a comment on this post, but I am left all but speechless. I know followers of Christ aren’t supposed to hate people, but I hate whatever enabled a father and brothers to justify committing such a heinous (I can’t think of a stronger word right now, or I’d use it) act on their own flesh and blood, and to actually express pride in their outrageous and bloody deed. My heart weeps for the mother even more than for the daughter. Though she must have suffered incredible terror, the daughter is now free. But the mother must now live it moment by moment – incredible pain for loss, incredible fear of retribution for an act of self-preservation, which is no crime at all.
Really … what can one say?
Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
Anyway … nice blog to visit.
cheers, Explicitly.
Hi Lucy,
There’s so many things that make this story so sad to me. One is that it’s not an isolated case. So much brutality in our world; it can be so depressing for me sometimes. Another thing that bothers me is how many people (ironically those with the biggest ego’s it seems), just are not willing to take accountability for their own actions. So they pin it on someone else, or in this case, God. History is full of so much murder in the name of God. Since I happen to believe in God, I find myself wondering how He feels about all this. I know how I’d feel if a brutal act was committed and I was given credit for “blessing” it. Though it’s painful, I think we need to be aware of events like this. Thank you.
Hi Ken and E.D Jones, thankyou both for your very kind and very thoughtful words
Your comments are very provocative and I love this, because such things make me feel like we’re in the 13th century on a crusade “I did it for god” I mean wtf? I don’t have a problem if people believe some stuff and all, but killing people and say you did it because of a higher being or saying this higher being would be proud of you or agree in any way with you is just sick. That’s how it comes people think a whole religion is bad, though I’m sure each belief has good sides and bad sides. Anyway. Great entry.
